Baba Sali Grandson, “Baba Elazar” Abu Hatzeira Murdered

Rabbi Elazar Abu Chatzeira of Beer Sheva (the “Baba Elazar”), the grandson of the Baba Sali (Rabbi Yisrael AbuHatzeira), was killed at the age of 70, tonight after being stabbed in the heart by a visitor known to him who ostensibly came for a bracha.

Details are still emerging about this terrible event.

According to Israeli media reports the man who stabbed the rabbi has been identified as Asher Dahan from Elad, a Morrocan Jew, and is under arrest.

Jerusalem | Filmed in Imax 3D

After a year of research and preparation, the giant screen film JERUSALEM advanced into production with an unprecedented aerial shoot throughout Israel and the West Bank. Scheduled for worldwide release in 2013, the film will take audiences on a spectacular tour of the Holy Land and the city believed to lie at the centre of the world.

An X-tian video, it has referenced to Yushke. Nevertheless, the video is breathtaking.

NEW MOMENTUM FOR NEFESH B’NEFESH ALIYAH

By: Steve K. Walz, Jewish Press Israel Correspondent

Anti-Semitism on college campuses, an uninspiring singles scene and the desire to join family members are spurring a new wave of aliyah from the U.S. In an interview last week with Rabbi Yehoshua Fass aboard the first of two chartered El Al flights from JFK International Airport this summer, the co-founder of Nefesh B’Nefesh told The Jewish Press, “Some fascinating trends have emerged, which couldn’t have been predicted 10 years ago when we first started our flights. Back then, the whole concept of making aliyah was more of a pioneering experience for those who made the move. Today, as the fabric of American society has changed, so has the type of person or family seeking a new life in Israel.”

The flight highlighted an unusually large number of singles (51) and young families with children (103). “The increase in the number of singles coming from college campuses to Israel can be traced to several factors,” said Rabbi Fass. “College campuses across America have become so anti-Israel that a large number of Jewish students have spent a significant amount of their time defending Israel. All of a sudden there is a need to manifest that energy defending Israel into actually wanting to come to Israel.

Court Clears Suspected Nazi Court Criminal

A little while back, the Toronto National Post reported that Sandor Kapiro, a 97 year old Hungarian former Nazi war criminal who was recently the world’s most wanted Nazi war crimes suspect, of all charges related to the execution of over 30 Jews and Serbs in 1942.

The prosecution had demanded at least a prison sentence for Sandor Kepiro, who until his arrest topped the Simon Wiesenthal Centre’s list of most wanted Nazi criminals. However, the defense insisted there was no tangible evidence that Kepiro had carried out war crimes. The Wiesenthal Centre denounced the court’s decision as a “scandal.”

Leiby Kletzky and Rabbi Shmuel Kamenetzky – Rabbis Seem to Have it in Their Best Interest to keep Things Hush-Hush

Recently Rabbi Shmuel Kamenetsky said that child abuse should be reported to rabbis, not police.

R’ Kamenetsky, the vice president of Agudath Israel of America’s Supreme Council of Rabbinic Sages, state in a speech July 12 in Brooklyn that the sexual abuse of a child should be reported to a rabbi, who would then determine if the police should be called. He made this speech as a search was being conducted for an 8-year-old Brooklyn boy, Leiby Kletzky, whose dismembered body was found the following day, both in a garbage dumpster and in the apartment of Levi Aron. Mr. Aron was indicted Wednesday in the boy’s murder.
